Which should come first? Is there a relationship between both? Would having sex before heading to the gym affect my performance in a good or a bad way? Should I avoid sex before tomorrow’s match? These and many other questions may cross the minds of those obsessed with practicing sports either part of living a healthy life or moreover professional athletes and their coaches. That level of obsession in turn raises a dilemma among sport fans.

Ancient medicine schools suggested a positive effect of abstaining from sex on body performance. A myth that has been adopted by many athletes along history. For example, you would find professional boxers as Clay pausing romance for several weeks before an important fight. Similarly, a major league soccer player’s sex life would go on hold during training camps and during competitions. On the other hand, we find schools encouraging the opposite believing that sex close to sports had a positive effect on performance. Many famous American football players and serious martial art fighters have confessed during interviews that their rule was having all the sex they could right before matches.

Every school has its own theory, nothing to do with weakening the knees or getting rid of body toxins of course. Those supporting abstinence see that sexual frustration due to abstinence may not only conserve energy but raise the level of aggression thus endurance of an athlete as well. Others of the same group may relate sex to a state of exhaustion and lack of concentration in case sleep routine was disturbed, not to mention the risk of minor injuries as sprains especially if matters had gone a bit rough under the sheets. Some experts even blame sex for altering heart rates of athletes. However, the group encouraging sex before sports sees that sexual frustration may actually be harmful and distracting to an athlete supporting the notion that regular sex before sports relaxes the mind and soul which in turn helps in keeping a sharp focus. Also some claim that sex causes a surge in blood testosterone levels which is an important anabolic hormone responsible for muscle bulk in addition to our sense of well-being. 

While several investigations attempt to solve this dilemma, research stands short of supporting any concrete effect for sex on body performance or stamina. Hence, available data to date, relies mainly on experts’ opinions awaiting further studies. Until then, which theory we support may remain according to our personal preference and acquaintance of each one’s body. No one can argue that a healthy life style comprising a balanced diet of healthy ingredients and an adequate amount of rest and activity is always the key to optimum performance and well-being.

Auditory Processing Assessment Will Assess Your Child Need for Hearing Aid

The problems of auditory deficiency in children are increasing by the day. As the world moves on faster, there are certain ill-effects of the whole civilizing process and children might be born of this deficiency or acquire it when they come into this world. How Is Hearing Loss Detected Right After Birth?

Your child is given a hearing test right after he or she is born. If he or she does not pass the test then a second try is made. Upon failure in that test also the doctor refers you to a specialist for further tests.

An auditory processing assessment can include the following tests. These tests can be conducted within three months of age. They are:

The Auditory Brainstem Response Test or ABR:

This one will measure the responses of your child to the sound through electrode sensors. These are just taped to the side of the brain so that when an electrical wave passes through the child’s brain it is easy for the sensors to detect the motion. Of course, the child should have a completely quiet brain, necessarily sleeping.

Otoacoustic Emissions Test or OAE:

This test is done to make sure that your infant’s ears reflect the sounds thus completing the hearing process. A sound of low decibel is entered through a probe placed into the infant’s ear canal. If the resultant echo comes back then the infant does not have permanent hearing loss. If it does not then he or she does.

Tympanometry Test:

It is a test done to check whether the whole system from the eardrum to the middle ear and the outer one is functioning properly. It might be possible that he or she has a slight defect in any of the parts or has fluid inside which can be treated.
